About SkyView

SkyView is a multi-purpose tool that brings together the worlds of Web technologies and spatial exploration. The basic goal of the project is to enable users around the world to explore a certain place on earth by using the SkyView Application or the SkyView kml files together with the Google Earth browser or their GPS. The SkyView Application launched from the home page enables you to browse all information and use all provided services through the Web. The SkyView kml files are dynamically updated thus enabling the user to have a "current" view of the information that is provided.
We at SkyView believe that spatial browsers (such as Google Earth) and spatial Web Applications (enabled after the launch of the Google Earth plugin) are the future of the Tourism industry having revolutionized the way information is presented to users. SkyView applications on tourism are virtuously unlimited. The basic application is that everyone can view and download a very elaborative Tour Guide and take it with them wherever they go on their GPS, FOR FREE. This tour guide is an information source but also a direction source. No need for maps, not need for guessing, just point to the place you want to visit and your GPS directs you to it by utilizing the SkyView files.
SkyView is also a very useful advertising tool for company owners, a way to bring people that do not live where they were born together with those that do (thus, a tool for social networking), an educational tool for users needing information on specific geographical areas but also a tool to just have fun with. Skyview not only provides information but also enables users to add their own content. This content is first screened by SkyView and then added to our application and our kml files.
A new way to find places, find people, find companies: FIND INFORMATION. A new way to build your own e-travel guide and take it with you when you travel.
The first place on earth to be SkyViewed is the island of Kefalonia in Greece because all SkyView applications can be easily applied and of course because SkyView was "born" on the island.
